An interesting fact about Marne-la-Vallée
Marne-la-Vallée has a distinctive heritage, as it was one of 5 new towns es created in Île-de-France in the Sixties in response to the area’s development and expansion. The layout is based around multiple urban centers that are connected by public transport and main roads, unlike other towns like Cergy-Pontoise and Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines that have just one town center each. Marne-la-Vallée was built on the south bank of the Marne, from west to east.
